Tank trucks are mainly classified according to the transported medium, structural design, and functional purpose. Based on the transported medium, they can be divided into liquid transport tank trucks (e.g., oil tank trucks with anti-static design, chemical tank trucks requiring corrosion-resistant materials), gas transport tank trucks (e.g., LNG tank trucks with a design pressure ≥1.8MPa), and powder/granular material tank trucks (tank tilt angle 10°~15°). Based on structural design, they are divided into vertical tank trucks (volume 20~50m³), horizontal tank trucks (single tank volume up to 60m³), and semi-trailer tank trucks (load capacity approximately 40 tons). Based on functional purpose, they include general transport tank trucks, multi-functional tank trucks (e.g., asphalt tank trucks with integrated heating function), and special tank trucks (compliant with GB 18564.1-2019 standard). In terms of technical parameters, the tank material thickness is 5~8mm for carbon steel and 3~5mm for stainless steel (JT/T 230-2021). Lightweight design (aluminum alloy tanks reduce weight by 30%) and intelligent features (liquid level sensors, GPS tracking) are industry trends.
